Want to look more polished? There are certain must-have wardrobe pieces that every woman needs to own, to make getting dressed easier and more fashionable. The white blazer is absolutely one of those essential dressing pieces, along with the perfect pair of jeans, and a classic white shirt. These items can instantly add elegance to so many different outfits, from casual day-off looks, to office wear, and evening going out outfits.
I was rather surprised to find that I don't currently own a single button white blazer ... so I went on the white blazer hunt to remedy that!! I managed to find this one from Mango, it looks so much more fitted on the model than on me, I am wearing a size 8, I could have sized down, but by being slightly oversized gives this blazer more styling options. As I think when wearing a blazer casually, it needs to be slightly oversized. But not too much, as petite frames can be overwhelmed.
Here I've styled the blazer with an off-white double layer camisole, the extra lining of the camisole means that it glides over undergarments without showing any lines. Paired with culottes and mules. The culottes fasten at the side, so extremely flattering as a front fastening zip can add bulk to the tummy area. The mules are also from Mango and to my absolute surprise, rather easy to walk in, and manage to stay on my foot!! I doubt that I would wear mules to the office, but a pump would work for a corporate look.
This next look, I simply changed the culottes for ripped jeans, and added large earrings for an evening look. The jeans are a distressed, mid-rise girlfriend cut, which are looser on the leg than a skinny, but not as loose as a boyfriend cut. The rise is mid-rise, as I low rise gives me a muffin top and high rise seems to make me look expectant ... so for whatever the reason a skinny jean just doesn't suit my body type. Finally, I think that that the blazer works as its a little oversized.
In this outfit, I paired the blazer with a rose pink pleated skirt, and I decided to change the mules to white strappy sandals (bought from Topshop last summer) as the black would be a bit too harsh with the colour palette of the outfit.
Finally, paired the blazer with a floral print dress is a must-have daytime dressing piece for summer. You can extend the wear of a summer dresses in your wardrobe, simply by adding a white blazer over top. The same is true in winter, when you can pair a printed dress with a white blazer.
